Christian Dior Spring 2013

CHRISTIAN DIOR “PALMYRE” COUTURE JEWELED STRAPLESS EVENING GOWN, 1952. Platinum silk satin opulently decorated with prong set rhinestones and blue jewels, pearls, silver metallic cord, periwinkle embroidery and sequins, boned bodice with top band of darts above meandering floral trailing down skirt having side pleats and center back inverted pleat.
He created infinitely wearable looks with the same classic feel as Galliano had. I LOVE this collection. Here I was worried, not anymore!
Christian Dior Spring Couture 2012 - definitely not as dramatic as we are used to seeing with Galliano. However, some really pretty and feminine designs by Bill Gaytten - very ladylike. Many looks had that Saab-like quality to me that I absolutely adore seeing on the red carpet. I could see celebrities wearing some of these looks not only on the red carpet but to a dinner or other formal outing. Overall, the collection was more wearable vs. couture, but I’m pleased. Dior will never really be the same without Galliano, but perhaps Gaytten will take the label into a new direction entirely. What do you think?
